Halloween 2009

Cadence was adamant about being a

cheerleader

for Halloween this year. I'm not sure why. She doesn't even know what cheerleaders are, but luckily our neighbor (Thanks, Jenny!) had a costume we borrowed and

she turned herself into this:

She came walking into the office after getting herself ready. . . bow and all. It was too cute.

But after a wave of my magic wand, both girls were EXCITED (see below)

and ready to go!

We went to Daddy's work and walked through the crazy Halloween world there. Daddy's department was a jail. We also saw outer space, Disney of all kinds, Dr. Seuss, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mario Brothers, and The Wizard of Oz. The girls were a bit overwhelmed at times, but their buckets of candy eased any fear.

After dinner (Hamburgers on the grill - last of the season - and homemade french fries . . . mmmmmmm. . .) we had a party with the neighbors.

First a friendly game of BINGO. . .

Next, a meltdown. . .

Followed by Freeze Dancing to

SCARY HALLOWEEN MUSIC. . .

Ashland took the cake for BEST DANCER of the evening. . .

She even danced with the only boy in the company. . .

The lights were even turned red

and we broke out the ever impressive glow in the dark jewelry
(which caused more problems than anticipated. . . )

A Halloween Party wouldn't be complete without some Mummy wrapping. . .

And a few jumps into the pile of toilet paper afterwards. . .

Whew. . . we were all so tired after such a fun party, that we let the kids stay up even longer while the adults enjoyed a few bars of Guitar Hero. (not pictured) We had a great Halloween!
