Ben got to sleep in this morning -
which is a big deal.
He's usually up before five so that we can both get in our workouts before he has to go to work. Even Saturdays, he's at the plasma center at five a.m. donating.
So after a little sleep, he was woken up by
three really cute girls
and a
delicious breakfast
in bed
He didn't actually get out of bed officially until after 11. At lunch he said his day was "phenomenal." There were no fabulous gifts - just a day with his family - and a little catch up on his sleep.
The girls and I made him a tie - which I have done every year since Cadence was born. She was six weeks old for his first official Father's Day - I remember having to go over to Deon's because it required "back up." I love the tradition - and I think Ben does too. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do when the kids hands won't fit on a tie - because he's totally not into the "World's Best Dad" shirts. Right, Ben?
Ashland was so proud of her little handprint. She just kept raising up her hands to show us what she'd done. Adorable.

This morning, I said that I didn't care what the weather did - as long as it wasn't raining between 4:30 and 5 - when we needed to barbecue Ben's father's day steak. So, it has been raining here for months now - it seems. Well, lo and behold. . . it rained, but we still barbecued and it was DELICIOUS!!
Look at these girls with their dad. Ahhh.
It was a good day. Ben was even smothered with kisses.
We sure love you Benny.
Happy Father's Day.
