A Sad Day

Kia joined our family a little over a year and a half ago.
She's a good dog.
We've had our moments, but overall she really is a good little pup.
But, we decided - after much time and thought - that we needed to find her a better home.
We just weren't giving her enough love.
I can barely give my girls the time they deserve - let alone the dog.
So, Ben posted an add at work and we got a phone call.  We decided to meet this couple and see how we felt and if Kia would warm up to them.  They came on Saturday.
They were amazing.
They are a retired couple who travel quite a bit in their 5th wheeler with their 12 year old Shih Tzu named Suki.  They decided they wanted another dog, and found us.  Kia growled at first - which is normal - for her.  She didn't like anyone coming over - ever.  That was one things that was a struggle for us.  We got a Shih Tzu because they tend to be a friendly breed.
But, not Kia.
She was a protective girl who didn't like anyone coming into her territory.

So, we met Fred and Debbie, fell in love and sent our little Kia to live in a new home -
where she is being spoiled!

Here are a few pictures of the girls as we said goodbye on Saturday morning.

We've already talked with Kia's new family several times and they have assured us that she is doing well.  Debbie is on facebook and had posted a picture of their
"newest family member"
not long after leaving us.  They also said that we can come visit her anytime -
which the girls were happy about.
We are so grateful to have a found such a wonderful family for our Kia.
Many tears have been shed, but we are confident that we made the right decision.
Goodbye Sweet Kia.
You be a good girl!!
