When I got home, I found this:
A very GUITLY face...

and a miracle.
So, Ben decides to show his daughter a "neat trick", as he put it. I'm not sure of all the details - something about dismantling a lighter and making it shoot out a flame blah, blah, blah. . . Honestly, I get mad just thinking about it. Come on, showing your THREE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER a FIRE trick? What am I going to do with him? So, apparently it was still shooting flames, and he left it on the back deck on a metal table to supposedly "burn out." Well, a few minutes later, he looks out the door and sees flames. Not just small little flames that will, as he put it, "burn out." More like flames that might "burn down" something - namely, OUR HOUSE!!! What happened, you say? Well, his shoes were underneath the table and they caught on fire. Awesome. Once again, what am I going to do with that man - or should I say BOY? He reverted back to his childhood - his very curious, inquisitive, mischevious, adventurous, spontaneous. . . I might even go so far as to say, NAUGHTY childhood. Look at this face. . .

I love you Benny!! You're one in a million, and you're all mine - every little CRAZY part. What am I going to do WITH you. . .
because I can't live WITHOUT you!!!

All I could think about today after I showed Cadence my "neat trick" was how disappointed I was in her lack of excitement. So, let me just say, I cannot wait to have a boy and show him all the FUN!!!!! stuff his Dad knows.
Oh, sorry Ben, I forgot to tell you - WE'RE NOT HAVING ANYMORE KIDS!!! The risk is just too great!!
this is classic. i want you to know i showed my ben & he was very proud of your ben. anything with boys & flames will never go out of style no matter how old they are!
on another note...loved those pictures of disney on ice. those little girls are so cute, how fun is that. and brooke you look beautiful in every single one of them!
Oh my gosh! I am speachless.
Seriously! Boys don't grown into men, really....just bigger boys. So glad it was just the shoes. While the mom's away, the boys will play. Makes you think twice about fulfilling your calling next times. :)
Ok, seriously???? I can not stop laughing!!! If it were my husband I would be furious.....HOWEVER becasue it is your's, I find this absolutely hillarious.
BEN! What a GREAT way to get a new pair of shoes! Cadence is so lucky to have a good dad like you to teach her such a neat trick! Who cares what everyone else thinks! I think my girls need to learn something new too!
Uhhh...gosh I don't even know what to say other than it looks like someone needs a new pair of shoes. Sheesh!
oh Boys Boys Boys, they never grow out of that need to try stuff out! And I swear as they get older they think they know everything so nothing seems dangerous!
BJ is the same way! I don't think its anything us RATIONAL women will ever really understand! :)
Super funny store though!
That's hilarious!
I guess the fascination with "heat" never ended. Was it about 25 years ago when you stuck the keys in the garage outlet and nearly melted your hand off, Ben? Thanks for the laugh! :)
Oh my heavens ben!! That is.... crazy!... I am glad eerything is okay and that you are still in love! Sorry about your shoes!
What about the time he took a screwdriver to a 9V battery and ended up with battery acid in his face or the time he took Mom's watch outside and hammered it open to see how it works? There are so many more...he's always had the dangerous and destructive streak. Heaven bless Ben and the girls, but especially Brooke.
