I really am so, so sorry.

A curious little girl entered her Mommy's closet and saw something interesting on a shelf up high. She climbed up and grabbed a bag - full of priceless gold. It seemed to call her little name saying, "Caaaadeeencccee, OPEN ME." So, the little girl did. She took out the precious contents and caressed them. It was beautiful. What a wonderous thing her mommy had been hiding in her closet. She wondered, "What is this for?" Instead of going to ask her Daddy - who was in charge during this time - she decided to experiment with the said precious gold. She unwrapped a band that held the contents of the bag and immediately knew something had gone incredibly wrong. She quickly left the scene of the crime and went back to her usual meanderings. He father found her some time later - covered in evidence. Beware: It ends sadly. Very sadly. Let's just say this: Don't procrastinate the day of your submittance.

I cut off 10 inches of hair intending to send it to Locks of Love. That was two years ago. I shouldn't have procrastinated. Now, that hair will join things that need not be named in a landfill - instead of reaching its true potential - a beautiful wig for someone in need. It's a sad day.

And the little girl. . . "I really am sorry Mommy. I really am sorry. I am so sad that I touched your hair. I really am so, so sorry."
Breaks my heart - on both counts.

Oh my two very sad little girls. My heart aches for both of you. I wish I could hold you both in my arms and make everything all right again. Moral of the story: Don't keep your gold hidden in your closet when it can do so much good for someone else. I love you both.

Oh, that is too bad. So sorry. I could really have used that ten inches of hair right about now. :)

Ouch! That is sad. Just keep those "golden" scissors out of reach. It would be oh so much more sad if she cuts her own. :) I know!

Somehow I missed this post. I am so sorry too! Makes my stomach flip flop. Sweet baby girl...she'll probably remember this for a long time.
