The Louderback's: Hello?

Hello?

I'm starting to wonder if there's anyone on the other line. . . I just keep getting a busy signal.

I'm feeling a little lost lately and wondering if I'm ever going to find my way back to my "real" life. In the last few weeks, my life has been flipped upside down. Not in bad ways - just flipped. I have gone from having the most wonderful summer - no commitments - just me and the girls going to the park, storytime, swim lessons, grandma's house. . . it's been great.

Here's my curve ball - I was just called as PRIMARY PRESIDENT. I am starting a PRESCHOOL in the basement in a week and a half and I commited to BABYSITTING a friend's little boy five days a week.

What? I'm looking for a little help - a little "you can do it" or "take a deep breath" - something. Help!

1st best calling in the church to the 2nd best. ;) I was just released after my 2nd time, 3years this time, so here's a few bits of advice for what they're worth. *Insist on the best counselors and DELEGATE, *Don't pick up the phone on Sunday before church, *never ever plan an activity during the month of December, *talk with the Bishop one on one when facing hurdles, and *keep it simple! The new Sharing Time Outline for 2010 is awesome--you don't need to reinvent the wheel for Sharing Time. You'll be awesome! Call me if you ever need ideas.

I remember when we used to tease Leah that whoever got to be her husband would be so lucky because of how much she does, and how amazing she is and much "umph" she has. I have often thought of you the same way, how wonderful of a mom you are, how you have such a strong testimony, how you are so patient and kind with your friends and with not only your own kids, but mine also. The Lord knows what you have embarked on, and looks like he is sending you out to embark on a whole lot more. He know you and your strengths and weaknesses, and I know you can do it. Best part is, when it it easy, when it it difficult, when its everything you love, when its everything you hate- he WILL be there for you... and heck, all your loyal blog readers will too! After attending a graveside ceremony for Uncle Dean, Cadence says, "Mom, did you know that a motorcycle could die?" "It can," I replied. "Yeah - it really can," she said. Well, as she and her cousin were exploring the cemetery, they came across a headstone with a motorcycle on it. I realized what she was talking about and explained to her that some people pick a picture of something they really liked to put on their headstone. She looked at me with the most serious face and said, "Oh, Hayden and I thought that motorcycle had really died!"

I jogged over to get Cadence from Joy School and she wanted to jog back - after running a good distance she said, "Mom, this is UNBEARABLE." (Where does she hear these things?) Then she says, "But Friday, it will be bearable." Crazy kid.

I went in to kiss Cadence goodnight and she said, "Heavenly Father is the BEST GUY! He really is."

While I was talking on the phone, Cadence came over and said, "You need to take care of us." Hmmm, is that a hint?

After rolling our balance ball over her sister, I told Cadence that she needed to put it downstairs. "Yeah," she said, "cause it needs a time out. It just pushed my sister down." Understand that it wasn't Cadence, it was THE BALL!!!!

After NOT LISTENING to her mother's tenth warning to stop touching the sprayer in the sink, Cadence SPRAYED THE KITCHEN DOWN. She sat in the NAUGHTY SPOT for three minutes and then came to appologize, "Sorry Mommy, I'm really sorry for spraying the kitchen. . . I was just trying to clean it." Nice.

While sitting on Grandma's lap in church, she says, "We have blood in our bodies and BOOGERS in our NOSES." Anatomy 101. That's my girl.

While Cadence and her Grandma were walking hand in hand, her Grandma started singing - Cadence said, "Grandma, nobody wants to hear that." Do you think she's ever heard that before? Well, my disclaimer is that I have never said that to her about her singing - only her crying!!

"GASP!! We forgot to put up our CHRISTMAS TREE!"

"It's fall, so the leaves are falling off the trees. And someday when the wind stops blowing, we can put them in a big pile." (Little does she know - we live in Idaho - where the wind NEVER STOPS BLOWING!!!)

While her daddy was telling her stories in bed, she sniffed him (he'd just mowed the lawn) and said,"Daddy, you stink! Garbage stinks. . . We have stuff to spray on garbage to make it not stink. We don't have any. We need to go to the store and get some." The next morning, she wakes up and asks me, "Did daddy take a shower? Cause he stinks!"
