Ok, Brooke. I have been looking through your weight-loss blog off and on all day, reading different posts and looking at your pictures, reading more posts.... thinking about my goals. You are an inspiration. I mean seriously- I knew you were losing weight, and looking good. But in my own efforts to lose weight and know ing how hard it is... my hat goes off to you and your hard work. Cause dang girl. YOu have done it- you have done something amazing that has equated into several amazing things from my point of view. Obviously, you lost a lot of weight, but you also gained all sort of truly inspiring points of views that have really helped me sort through some things today. I have always loved to watch you and how great of a mother you are, and some of the things you said about motherhood were very helpful to me. And lets face it, you ran a half marathon! geeze Brooke! I hate running, I do, and I do not know why anyone in their right mind likes to run- but heck! If you can do it, more power to you and you did it with flying colors! congrats! love ya girl, and thanks for sharing your story! miss you!

I want an ipod with lots of songs and lots of movies and lots of games for my birthday. . . and if that's too expensive, you can just buy me something else. Okay, mommy?

After staying a few days at grandma's she says, "When my Mom comes to pick me up, can we lock the doors and pretend we're not home?"
17 July 09
"I don't want to live here anymore because I want to live by grandma. I don't want you to be my mom anymore. Can we call grandma and see if she will be my mom? I like her best, so I want her to be my mom - not you."

After attending a graveside ceremony for Uncle Dean, Cadence says, "Mom, did you know that a motorcycle could die?" "It can," I replied. "Yeah - it really can," she said. Well, as she and her cousin were exploring the cemetery, they came across a headstone with a motorcycle on it. I realized what she was talking about and explained to her that some people pick a picture of something they really liked to put on their headstone. She looked at me with the most serious face and said, "Oh, Hayden and I thought that motorcycle had really died!"

I jogged over to get Cadence from Joy School and she wanted to jog back - after running a good distance she said, "Mom, this is UNBEARABLE." (Where does she hear these things?) Then she says, "But Friday, it will be bearable." Crazy kid.
I went in to kiss Cadence goodnight and she said, "Heavenly Father is the BEST GUY! He really is."
17 Feb 09
While I was talking on the phone, Cadence came over and said, "You need to take care of us." Hmmm, is that a hint?
3 Jan 09
After rolling our balance ball over her sister, I told Cadence that she needed to put it downstairs. "Yeah," she said, "cause it needs a time out. It just pushed my sister down." Understand that it wasn't Cadence, it was THE BALL!!!!
9 Dec 08
"Mom, why do you go to the gym EVERY day? You just get all sweaty and your face gets ALL red."
8 Dec 08
After NOT LISTENING to her mother's tenth warning to stop touching the sprayer in the sink, Cadence SPRAYED THE KITCHEN DOWN. She sat in the NAUGHTY SPOT for three minutes and then came to appologize, "Sorry Mommy, I'm really sorry for spraying the kitchen. . . I was just trying to clean it." Nice.

While sitting on Grandma's lap in church, she says, "We have blood in our bodies and BOOGERS in our NOSES." Anatomy 101. That's my girl.

"Mom, your the best teller storier."
30 Oct 08
While Cadence and her Grandma were walking hand in hand, her Grandma started singing - Cadence said, "Grandma, nobody wants to hear that." Do you think she's ever heard that before? Well, my disclaimer is that I have never said that to her about her singing - only her crying!!
27 Oct 08
Before her daddy kissed her goodbye this morning, she said, "You have whiskers, just kiss me on the hair."
14 Oct 08
After being told to hold still by her daddy, Cadence said, "I can't stop moving. I'm too wigglish." (Is that like ticklish?)
11 Oct 08
We heard this outburst as we were driving - during the first snowstorm of the year.
"GASP!! We forgot to put up our CHRISTMAS TREE!"
9 Oct 08
"It's fall, so the leaves are falling off the trees. And someday when the wind stops blowing, we can put them in a big pile." (Little does she know - we live in Idaho - where the wind NEVER STOPS BLOWING!!!)
7 Oct 08
While her daddy was telling her stories in bed, she sniffed him (he'd just mowed the lawn) and said,"Daddy, you stink! Garbage stinks. . . We have stuff to spray on garbage to make it not stink. We don't have any. We need to go to the store and get some." The next morning, she wakes up and asks me, "Did daddy take a shower? Cause he stinks!"
Sept 08
"If you're really still, you can feel an angel in your heart."
Ben and I have been married now for ten years. My every happiness is because of him. . . including three of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen. Cadence (6), Ashland (3) and Berklee (1) are my princesses. Together, we are just lovin' Louderback life.
