Little Bitty Pretty One

Cadence had her Spring Dance Recital on Friday.

They danced to the song
Little Bitty Pretty One.
"I could tell you a story
Happened long time ago
Little bitty pretty one
I've been watching you grow"

It was so fun to live those moments through her eyes.
I love it when she feels so special.
It's priceless.
Nothing is better than dressing up a little girl in her dance costume and watching her
turn into a princess.
It's like someone turns on a light in her eyes and she's transformed.

She was so excited and couldn't wait - but did it rather patiently. She had a dress rehearsal at 4 - the doors opened for seating at 6:15 - it started at 7 - and that little girl didn't get to go on stage until almost 9 o'clock.
Not a moment of hesitation
about going on stage in front of a packed auditorium.
Not a drop of nervous energy.
Not an ounce of fear.
I wish I could bottle some of that
perfect innocence and sheer excitement.
(I could use it more than I'd like to admit.)

She did a great job.
For a class made up of three year olds - some who have now turned four - it was great.
They left a smile on everyone's lips - and a tear in one mother's eyes.

Cadence adores her two best friends - Bailey and Soli. They were all in dance together - and three exhausted girlies posed for a few pictures after their performance.

Granmaleen wasn't able to be there, but she sent some flowers for her. Cadence is always so gracious when she gets something from someone - especially granma.
"Thank you, Granma. Thank you so much.
I love my flowers.
They're beautiful."
I love you, Cadence.
You are my dancer, my ballerina, my prancing princess, my long-legged wonder.
