A Joy School Christmas

In the Joy School curriculum, they have you organize and perform a Christmas program with the children. They learn several Christmas songs and reenact the Nativity. We went to an assisted living center and performed it for a group of, as Cadence would say, really, really, really, really, really, really, really old people. It was so cute. They did a great job. They we had a little Christmas dinner and party with the other joy school families and they did it again for us. Here are just a few pictures of our evening:

Cadence was Mary - and very happy with that assignment. She played a very good Mary.

This is a picture that Cadence drew - "I drew Mary, and myself dressed up as Mary. And I drew Joseph."

So, Cadence had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction during her performance. She is just so tall that I have to put her in shirts that are size 6 in order for them to cover her tummy. Well, as you can see, this size 4 just didn't cut it. She went from pulling it up, to looking to make sure it was covering her tummy, to covering her tummy with her hands, to pulling it down. It was really quite amusing to watch. She's hilarious.

She was very proud of herself - and even said, "I sang the very loudest" - which she did. She decorated us each a cookie. Mine was the one with chocolate chips - delicious. "I made you and daddy a cookie. It's a candy cane. But you don't have to share - I made you both one." I can't believe how much she is growing up. She even sang with my primary kids in sacrament meeting on Sunday and then said the prayer in primary for the first time - and she's not even a Sunbeam. Watch out world, here she comes!!!
