Adventures in Canning

My mom and I decided to work on our food storage. What were we THINKING? FOUR boxes of PEACHES and SIX boxes of PEARS!!! It was back-breaking work - literally. In the end we bottled 67 quarts of peaches and 82 quarts of pears. I can't even tell you how it felt to look at the finished product - the FRUITS OF OUR LABORS haha!

Aren't they PRETTY?

WOWZER!!

My little Vanna.

What is this? - you may ask yourself. Well, it will be a constant reminder of the time my mom and I spent working together side by side. Or as Cadence says, "It's granma's bistake." Just a little word of caution to anyone who may be canning at some point in the future - don't put crazy hot bottles of peaches on a wet cloth on a new wood table. OOOPS!! Was it worth it? Yes! Was it cost effective? Nope! We figured the peaches cost $2.15/bottle and the pears $1.87/bottle - Add in labor and refinishing a tabletop. Not the best investment we've ever made.

Oh my gosh!!! You make my hard work look minimal!!! Look at all those jars!!! You'll have to see my small 18 jar work and read about how literally pooped I am tonight. You go girl!!! I almost feel like I should remove my post because I have nothing to brag about especially after seeing all the jars you did!!! See you tomorrow!!!
